The COVID-19, Corona Virus issue has put a serious Challenge on the entire World. The 21st Century has seen several scientific and technological revolutions creating an impression that the entire World is leading to a bright future for Mankind. While creating such scientific and technological revolutions, many of our activities, however, led to the evolution of Green House Gases to such an extent that Climate Change and Global Warming have also become reality.
In view of the above facts, we are trying to express some ideas for drawing the attention of Research Scientists in the field of Microbiology, Medical Science, Pharmaceutical Industries, Government Bodies and Academicians who are virtually fighting the Third World War imposed by the Corona Virus. In line with the concept of Survival of the Fittest in Darwin’s Theory of Evolution, we feel that the Corona Virus being a living organism is probably establishing its dominance to prove the survival as the Fittest.
The entire Medical Community and the Medical Sciences are currently helpless while fighting the Biological War declared by the Corona Virus and we need to analyze whether the said virus has the capability to change its vitality and behavior having some level of Intelligence. Some doctors who are treating the affected patients are observing some behavioral changes and some levels of mutation capacity of this Virus which may create difficulty for inventing a suitable Vaccine against the Virus. Research activities need to consider the issue of behavioral change of the Virus, if any.
How the Virus was created whether by the Human Being or by Nature is not yet known to anybody. COVID-19 Virus may be an invention by Nature to give warning and lessons to all the Countries for their activities responsible for Climate Change and Global Warming.
Several people are spreading several ideas through Social Media, News Channels, Print Media based on Individual concepts without proper and established experimental results. Some research findings are also being propagated based on Small Sample Sizes. Many people are suggesting different types of solutions due to their own Prejudice, trained Religious Thoughts, and Superstitions, creating Panic and Confusion rather than suggesting Sustainable Solutions. Several Social Media Videos are causing more damage than projecting the correct scenario to solve the present crisis.
The economic damage in the entire world created by COVID-19 Corona Virus is so widespread that the entire World will require a few years at least to overcome the crisis. The Virus has united the entire Human Community for a fight while forcing them to forget their Religion, Color, Caste, Creed, Community, Country and Economic Status.
The Infecting Power of COVID-19 Corona Virus is more than its capacity to kill when all age groups are considered. The current scenario is such that the aged people have higher risks of Deaths than the younger age groups. We need to analyze and find out whether the persons having better immunity arising out of Environments free from Air / Water / Sound Pollution, are less likely to die from the Infection of this Virus.
The entire World Community has to seriously think to reduce the Human Population on the Earth and to refrain from various Religious / Social / Community activities which lead to Air / Water/ Sound / Light Pollution. Such Population control is urgently required in those countries where the Population Density is already higher. Various types of Superstitions, especially in Under Developed and Developing Countries, are the greatest challenge to scientifically proven healthy way of living. In the absence of Vaccination and established Medical Treatment presently against the COVID-19 Corona Virus Pandemic, Social Distancing is the only valid solution right now, which can not be ignored. In case of homestay and lockdown, the psychological impact of monotony and confinement in a small home environment for a long duration of Lockdown, may create other health problems. We need to develop other sustainable scientific solutions in the long run.
So far, it is not known whether the COVID-19 virus can survive in the air and can be air-borne for infection. Thorough Research is required by taking Large Sample Sizes from the Air in this regard. If it is found that Infection can happen through the Air Movement by the Virus, the COVID-19 Pandemic may be more complicated creating grave difficulties for its Control.
The mandatory use of Masks having scientific specifications, Gloves, frequent Hand Hygiene and minimum 5 feet distance between 2 persons in Common Areas, should be mandatorily imposed by all the Countries for everybody (whether infected or not). A complete ban on all Human Gatherings/Assembly for any kind of activity (related to Social/Religious/Entertainment/Sports/Political etc.) is urgently required in all the Countries until either a Vaccine or foolproof Medical treatment is developed.
The R & D units of leading Pharmaceutical Companies, famous Research Laboratories in the field of Microbiology / Medical Sciences, Research Laboratories of relevant Academic Institutions and Doctors/Medical Professionals, etc. of various Countries are required to carry out intensive research to develop Drugs and Vaccines. We should be optimistic and hopeful that new innovations will ensure Humans’ victory in the Present Biological War against the deadly COVID-19 Virus in the near future.
